About Own Your HackerTube

What we make

Own Your HackerTube is a small tool for building a curated website around your taste. Paste a link to an article, video or repository, write one sentence on why it is worth someone's time, and it appears on your own page at ownhackertube.cc/s/yourname.

The name comes from HackerTube, Andrej Karpathy's weekend project that filtered twenty years of Hacker News recommendations into a better video feed. We wanted anyone to be able to run their own version for their own niche.

Our principle

AI should widen what you can see, not flatten how you sound. The reason you write for each link is stored exactly as you wrote it and shown on your site. We never rewrite it. Over time those reasons are meant to become the standard that an AI curator learns from when it suggests new items for you to approve.

Who we are

Own Your HackerTube is built and run by an independent developer. It is early, and we ship changes often.
